Pita Pit was founded in 1995 in Kingston, Ontario, by Nelson Lang and John Sotiriadis, who aimed to offer a fresh and healthy alternative to traditional fast food. Their concept of Lebanese-style pita sandwiches, filled with fresh ingredients and unlimited toppings, quickly gained popularity among college students seeking nutritious options. By 1997, Pita Pit began franchising across Canada, and in 1999, it expanded into the United States. Today, Pita Pit boasts over 600 locations worldwide, continuing to serve customizable pita sandwiches that cater to health-conscious consumers.
